Vertica 7.0 Management Console Settings Configuration

In this tutorial we will see how we can alter and custom our Vertica Management Console.

  • From the main page of your Vertica Management Console go to MC Settings.
  • Vertica Management Console Configuration

    • Here we can choose the (A)Vertica License Path,(B)Catalog Path,(C)Data Path,(D)Temp Path,(E)Aps Port and(F)Agent Port. All of this options can be altered reflecting your needs and your environment.

  • You can upload SSL(Secure Socket Layer) Certificate
  • You can choose to use a pre-configured LDAP servers.
  • You can create a new MC-authenticated user

    • You can create a user that will have access to the Database throw the Vertica Management Console, you can choose the permissions level used, password, name ,e-mail ,etc..

  • In the Resource Access window you can alter your user's definitions and associate them with new rights and roles.
  • You can upload a new Vertica binary and apply it.
  • You have two themes to choose from, i don't find none of them attractive but i don't think HP was interested to much in this !!
