ORA-19008: Invalid version of the XMLType

What triggered the Error:

An invalid version of the XMLType was found.

What should we do to fix it:

This is possible due to data corruption or an internal error or running an older client against a newer version of the database. Make sure that the version of the client can understand the XMLType in the database.
