Before doing this you must have installed your Vertica client installed on your Windows OS. You will find the client installation at this tutorial
To open Data Sources (ODBC), click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Performance and Maintenance. Click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Data Sources (ODBC).
Once the Data Source window has been opened, the Add button can be clicked to add a new data source. A new window will display with all of the available ODBC drivers that are installed on your machine. Below is an example screen shot:
Select the Vertica driver.
This the data source configuration form.
Paste in all the information.
Open an new excel documented create a new data connection.
Select the data source type , in our case is going to be a DSN ODBC.
Select the ODBC data source.
Select the table you want to output inside the excel file.
And there you go.
